João Marques is Portuguese director and photographer. Born in 1997, moved to Lisbon to study Cinema, Video and Media Communication at Universidade Lusófona. Finished his degree in 2018, directing his first short-film ‘Incomum’. In 2019, had the opportunity to go to Zhuhai, China to create a documentary called ‘Remained’ as a part of the ‘Looking China’ Youth Film Project. Complemented his studies with a year on a photography  at Ar.Co (Center of Visual Communication and Arts).

Since then, João has been working on film projects and doing photography work, which has been shown on exhibitions and featured by several international online platforms such as VSCO, Fubiz and Milk. In 2021 directed 'Je Suis',  which premiered on Nowness.
